My vacation is right around the corner…

So I am preparing for our upcoming vacation to New Hampshire and my to-do list is a mile long…its stressing me out!  I am one of those people who make lists for everything and must cross off everything on the list…I even add stuff to the list that I did just so I can cross it off!  LOL!!  Hey, I’m not saying I’m not a little crazy now that I have kids (who am I kidding I have always done this)!!  So as I am crossing things off my list, I realize I need to provide my daughter’s school with a copy of her birth certificate which is not a problem I have it.  Then as I am adding things to my list such as print plane tickets, get cash, and kids birth certs…I realize that I haven’t even gotten the birth certificate for my youngest yet YIKES…luckily I have a few days to get it.  The thought of going to vital statistics and waiting in that gross waiting room (with both kids) and a  million people makes my skin crawl but I have NO choice.  I was actually pleasantly surprised when I arrived there were 2 people ahead of us and we got in and out in less than 15 minutes…thank goodness!

While we are in New Hampshire, we will be celebrating my little ones first birthday (yes, it took me almost a whole year to get the child’s birth certificate…I never said I was perfect)…so I am planning the party from FL.  I have ordered all the party supplies and shipped them directly to my sister’s house. I have hired the traveling petting farm to come to the party…its a farm themed party and the kids are going to have a ball!  So with that said, I send my sister a list of things I need: tables, chairs, canopy etc…this is the response I get.  “lol your so funny we don’t need tables its not the way we do things in New England, we don’t have a lanai with tables and chairs set up, we just put out chairs and people sit wherever”…SIGH…I say in response, where  am I going to setup the cake/candy table and the gift table…and how are the kids going to eat?  She says “now now its going to be fine, don’t stress it will be fine its just a cookout”…that’s where she is wrong its my last child’s 1st birthday party and its going to be amazing!!!  I am going to admit that I AM A CONTROL FREAK and I want things done a certain way.  Little does she know I called the rental place and ordered tables and chairs for the day, I am going to bring a little bit of Florida to New England!!!

I still have several things to check off of my to-do list and hope that this weekend will prove very productive for me.  And all the while, I am praying that my farm party in New England with actual live farm animals will be the wonderful party I am imagining in my head and that the weather will cooperate as well!

When I read the part about you adding things to your list that you had just done so you could cross them off…my heart skipped a beat, my head bobbed up and down and my mouth curved into the biggest smile ever…I thought I was the only one who did that!!!!!
