Well while on vacation this year, we had Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene come through…this isn’t something typical that happens in New England so everyone kinda flipped out. My daughter’s 1st birthday party got canceled and my husband flew in only to be routed to a hotel because of the unsavory weather. So while he worked on his Construction Software, planning and building from the hotel, I had to deal with the reality of what was to happen next.
It wasn’t really that bad in New Hampshire…I am used to the daily Florida thunderstorms so I was unfazed. We did lose power so that was a bummer. Friday we had to shop for storm food and get ready. So Saturday and Sunday were spent inside all day with tons of my family which was great but I think we all got cabin fever. Plus I was a little disappointed because I had family in town from Texas, Vermont and Florida for this birthday bash and it never happened! We had a wonderful day on Monday at the Seacoast Science Center in Rye, NH which was amazing! It was a beautiful day and it was spent outside. Then my sister watched the kids so my husband and I were able to go to dinner alone. We went for lobster in Oguinquit, Maine and walked the Marginal Way it was really nice, watched the sunset and looked at the stars. I can’t remember the last time we did that, it was nice to reconnect even if only for a couple of hours. He left this morning to go back to Florida to work and we will return home in a week. Now, we are planning the party for this Saturday let the madness continue!
