If you have kids and they are in school, they are probably going to get sick at least once this year. We are smack dab in the middle of cold and flue season, so this is a prime time for illness. Even if we get kids to wash their hands and try to be careful to not spread germs, that is often not enough. Too many people who are sick spread their germs and no matter how careful we are, we still get ill. If this is the case in your house and the kids are stuck in bed, here are a few things they can do to keep them busy while they recover:
3 Fun Activities When Kids Get Sick
- Read To Each Other: It seems no matter what age my kids are, they still enjoy being read to. If your kids are out of school sick, this is a great way for them to practice and read aloud to you.
- Play A Game: They do not call them “bored” games for nothing! Board games are a great way to pass the time and the kids do not get overexerted. Play games that test the mind like Scrabble, Yahtzee or Monopoly.
- Watch Television: When I am sick, there is nothing I would rather do than watch a great classic movie. The kids love to watch TV shows and movies to make them laugh. Laughter is the best medicine right? With Netflix, you and the kids can watch a plethora of shows to keep you busy the entire time they are ill!
Netflix is an economical way to cure the boredom illness brings as well as any other time of the year! With the Netflix streaming plan, you pay less than $10 a month to get Netflix streamed through your television, game system or mobile device. My kids have just gotten to a place where they will choose a non-animated movie over a cartoon, which I like. I get tired of watching cartoons all the time and now the kids and I can watch shows and movies we can all enjoy. We recently watched Daddy Day Care, which we all loved, especially Henry. When Henry found out The Rock was the main character, he was all about watching it! He laughed so hard, I thought he was going to blow a gasket!
