I have been having a blast from the past good time seeing all the throwback Thursday posts on social media lately. I love seeing what people were wearing and how they styled their hair. As you can see from this picture from the 1990’s. I had some big hair (and that is a ponytail, not a mullet lol). I am actually mesmerized at how high my bangs are and that bright red lipstick and nail polish. Caitlin was watching me edit this picture and she was laughing her head off!
Chelsea was only 5 then and we spent a lot of time together watching TV together in that tiny apartment. As a single mom 20 years ago, I could not afford to do much so we watched a lot of television! We would pop up a big bowl of popcorn, snuggle up in my bed and have cartoon marathons! There was some pretty awesome programming at that time, so the options were plentiful. In the 1990’s, some of our favorites were Rugrats, Sesame Street, Beakman’s World and Sabrina The Teenage Witch. What is really cool is some of these same shows Chelsea and I watched are available through Netflix right now.
Netflix is celebrating the idea of #TBT with their programming by offering a lot of blasts from your TV past. One of Henry’s favorite shows right now is Beakman’s World, so it is surreal to watch that with him. One of my favorite shows from that time period was Family Ties and it is available on Netflix. Caitlin and I watch the show while we lay in my bed, much the same way Chelsea and I watched it. If you are looking for an affordable way to enjoy your favorite programs with your family, Netflix is a great option. Netflix has family friendly programming, is very affordable and is streamed through your TV, gaming system or on your mobile device. Be sure to follow Netflix on Facebook and Twitter.
