Ok, I am going to go ahead and give you the disclosure now that I am going to be talking about the bathroom. I am not however talking about a DIY bathroom project, but what goes on behind closed doors in the bathroom! More specifically, getting our clean on while we are in the “loo”. I am not one to shy away from any subject, especially when it comes to my kids. I know a lot of parents struggle with potty training their little ones but my issues came a bit later with my kids. My son has autism and he has a lot of sensory issues that he deals with on a daily basis. One of those issues was a double edge sword for us because he hates to have his bottom dirty after using the potty. The struggle was that he could not wipe well because he did not want to have his hands near “that dirty place”. So, my husband and I were completely stumped as to what to do to help Henry. He was around the age of 6-7 by this time and he was embarrassed. He did not want mom and dad to help him wipe his bottom but he could not do the job himself. So, what to do? After some research, we found that the brand of toilet paper we used could make a difference. After some trial and error with several brands, we finally found one that did the trick; Cottonelle and the Cottonelle Flushable Moist Wipes. And we have been a Cottonelle family ever since!
Bathroom Routines For Kids
As with most routines you put in place for your kids, personal hygiene habits take a little while for kids to get on board with. I now have a teenager that thinks she is way too busy to take a shower on a regular basis. I guess a lot of that has to do with it being summer and them swimming and playing that it is not a priority. All my talks about bacteria and germs goes in one ear and out the other! The one thing I have found that I can get Caitlin to use are the Cottonelle Flushable Moist WipesWe were already using the wipes for Henry’s bathroom routine, so that was handy, right?! So at the very least, I have gotten Caitlin to take a few of the wipes and take a few minutes to clean up. Thank goodness that Walmart has a special going on right now that includes a free Fresh Care Moist Wipes dispenser with the purchase of a 24 roll package of Cottonelle. For my family, we usually buy 2 of the 24 packs at a time, so we always have plenty of toilet paper handy.
One of my favorite shows to watch in the afternoon is “The Talk“, which airs daily at 1 pm EST. I enjoy the openness the women on the panel display when talking about their various topics. A few weeks ago, Sharon Osbourne and Aisha Tyler did an interview where they talked about what goes on “Beyond The Bathroom Door”. It was completely hilarious as much as it was totally true! I have my DVR set so as not to miss an episode, but if you did not catch that particular show, you can watch the video here. Keep watching The Talk as the ladies will be revealing what goes on “Beyond The Bathroom Door” in their own homes and how they get their “clean on” in their #CottonelleRoutine! Now that is a topic that I am sure they will take from taboo to the water cooler, play dates and maybe even first dates.
So, how do you get your “clean on”? Do you have a #CottonelleRoutine you would like to share? Leave a comment about your Cottonelle Clean Care Routine below, tweet or leave a FB status and tell me how and where you get your “clean on”. I am sure you use your Cottonelle Flushable Moist Wipes in other places besides the bathroom. We have a packet in the car, in my purse and in our beach bag. The Cottonelle Moist Wipes are awesome for cleaning any mess you can think of including Popsicles, juice, food and are great for cleaning scrapes and cuts. Be sure to connect with Cottonelle on Facebook and Twitter.
