Educational Insights Hot Dots Jr Sweepstakes

Educational Insights Hot Dots Jr

Educational Insights Hot Dots Jr

My daughter is going to be 5 in November and I was looking for a learning game to keep her occupied this summer, I was able to review the Educational Insights Hot Dots Jr set and it was out of this world awesome!  The Hot Dots Jr set is made up of Ace the talking, teaching dog and Kat the talking, teaching kitty which are pens that interact with the Hot Dots Jr card sets.  The card sets cover: The Alphabet, Beginning Phonics, Numbers & Counting, Colors, Shapes and Patterns & Sequencing.  When I opened my package from Educational Insights I was instantly impressed.  We ordered Kat, one she is purple (my daughters favorite color) and two she’s a kitty (her favorite animal).  I chose to review the Patterns & Sequencing and The Alphabet card sets.  They came packaged in a really nice sturdy box with a velcro closure and a carry handle. There are 72 activites on the 36 double sided cards.  The bonus is that there is enough room in the box that we can store Kat the pen so we don’t lose her!  Kat took 2 AAA batteries (not included), I popped them in and within a second we were up and ready to learn.

Quality Time With Your Children

Quality Time With Your Children

Spending quality time with your children is so very important and although I love to do fun silly things with them I also enjoy teaching them new things.  My daughter and I sat down together to play with the Hot Dot Jr set and since I was so excited to start I didn’t read the directions…I found that Kat is so smart she magically interacts with the cards (without having to tell her what card you are on).  I was amazed, every card I tried worked and I thought to myself ahhh…this is going to be great she can play with this on her own because Kat knows what she’s doing!  So we started with the alphabet cards, she did a great job whizzing through them and towards the end they became more challenging which was great cause I was worried she would be bored.  When we moved on to the Patterns & Sequencing she seemed unsure of herself but before I knew it she was completing the pattern and so excited to get the positive feedback from Kat.  Kat the talking kitty lets you know when you have answered correctly by lighting up green, vibrating and talking to you (this feature can be shut off if needed). My daughter has played with this for hours on end and looks forward to taking it with her to show and tell at school!  You can purchase Kat (or Ace) for $12.99 and each Hot Dots Jr. set for $14.99.  Educational Insights has a wonderful selection of learning games and toys for children including GeoSafari, Teaching Tiles and SmartTalk.  Check them out on Facebook for all they have to offer!
