I am not a connoisseur of wine, but there are a few I have a preference for. I have been wanting to try something smooth and fruity. I was looking online, when I came across Riesling from FlipFlop Wines. With it being medium sweet with peach, apricot and melon I thought this would be good wine to start with.
When the wine arrived, I was having a small dinner party. I made beef stir fry, which seemed to fit in well. We opened the wine and the aroma was not too strong with a hint of fruit. When I took the first sip it was smooth and nice on the palate. As I had more I thought it was a tad strong for my taste. I was expecting more fruity then dry. The dinner progressed however, my husband and parents thought the wine was phenomenal. My parents had to know all the details and proceeded to order more of the wine the same night. The suggested foods to eat with this particular wine would be tofu stir fry, pork tacos, and sake sashimi. No matter what appetizers you have Riesling is an accommodating wine with a broad range of foods. The Beef stir fry was a hit, and I believe Tuna or sushi would be acceptable as well. The fruit tart we had for desert was exceptional with the wine.
You can find Riesling online at Flipflop Wines. While you are looking around you can check and see if they ship to your state. If you live near or in California you can go to the winery and pick it up. The price was not bad at $13.99. In the Red Wine they sell Cabernet, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sweet Read and Malbec. In the White, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Moscato, Sauvignon Blanc.
