Coffee and I can not live without each other! That being said, I was very excited to try Winchell Mountain Coffee. They have joined Sandra Boynton to bring you coffee AND art in The Boynton Collection. Our shelves are lined with most of her books and I was under the assumption coffee with her name would be just as good and I was not wrong.
Each bag comes vacuum sealed although I thought they weren’t at first. When I think of vacuum sealed coffee I picture tight packaging but it was not airtight. I had a nerd moment where I had to look up goglio valve bags they use to vacuum seal their packages. The one-way valve bags are used so no air gets in when the beans are put into the bag. And if I had just thought about it I would have realized that you need to see the art on the bags! Duh! (Exactly why I need coffee to kick start my brain!)
I first tried Wide Awake, partly because I found the chicken amusing, and partly because I need bold and zesty first thing in the morning to get me going! The coffee was very flavorful and had just a slight kick. I tried it black so I could get a good taste of the flavors then I added my usual creamer.
Next I took out their Valentine’s Day Coffee labeled an ‘Affectionate Blend’. I really wasn’t sure what that was suppose to mean but it turned out to be a milder coffee and very smooth. I found that I did not use as much cream when I drank that blend. My husband liked the Beach Blend the best out of the four. He said the mocha java was a nice fusion and he normally doesn’t care for that flavor! I liked the Country Morning coffee simply because I ran out of creamer and I can drink it black. It was milder than the others and I liked the flavor by itself.
You can find The Boynton Collection in select retailers or you can purchase from the Winchell Mountain Coffee online store. The collection retails for $10.95 for a 12 oz. bag and you can purchase ground or whole bean.

Although, I have not tried this brand, I think I’d go with “Serious Coffee”… because I am really SERIOUS about my coffee!! And, the cat looks like me prior to my SERIOUS coffee fix! =)

This is the first time I’ve heard ot this elixer of the gods, I mean coffee, provider so I visited their website. Sandra Boynton and coffee are the perfect combination. It was nearly impossible for me to choose only one of the 12 varieties offered in the Boynton collection. After a great deal of soul searching I finally decided to go with Overdrive Expresso, an unrestained French roast.
