McCain Foods Ellios Pizza
When I was younger and living in Massachusetts, I remember my Mom buying McCain Foods Ellios Pizza. It was a huge treat to get pizza and I always enjoyed it. She always kept us stocked up in case she was running late at work or we just wanted a snack. When we moved to Florida one of the many changes that we encountered was that the food wasn’t the same. The store where we grocery shopped didn’t carry my Ellios Pizza, I was disappointed to say the least. Now some 20 years later, I am shopping in the grocery store with my own children and what do I happen upon?? You guessed it Ellio’s Pizza! I couldn’t have been happier with this find and I of course bought a box. So when I was given the opportunity from McCain Foods to review Ellios Pizza I jumped all over it!
Whats For Dinner Tonight
When I am having one of those whats for dinner tonight moments, my go to dinner is Ellios Pizza. My kids love it and I have loved it since I was little. Some of you are probably thinking why on earth does she think this pizza is so great, well here’s why: there is the perfect amount of sauce and cheese ratio spread over the rectangular pizza, it is made with 100% real cheese, vine ripened tomatoes, and when cooked to perfection it develops a nice crunchy edge with the cheese slightly browned. There is no crust on this pizza, its ALL pizza so there is no waste as most kids don’t like the crust. You can cook it in one giant rectangle (kids preference) or break it into 3 pieces so each piece gets its own crunchy edge (my preference). The kids like to have theirs cut into strips which is done very easily and with little to no mess. It cooks at 425 for 12 minutes, which is perfect for a last minute meal option when we are in a time crunch or just feeling lazy. I usually pair it with a nice salad and fruit and its a crowd pleaser at my house.
Ellios Pizza comes in 5 different varieties: 5 cheese, cheese, extra cheese, pepperoni, Italian sausage & pepperoni and supreme. The only variety sold in my area is cheese which is totally fine with me because I am a “just cheese” type of girl and so are my kids. My local grocery store carries the regular size box with 9 slices and BJ’s carries the jumbo box of 27 slices. Like my mother did all those years ago, I always keep a box in the freezer. Did you know that Ellios has been around since 1963? I can see why…they have awesome pizza! Check them out on Facebook and Twitter for more product information!
