I’m not the best gardener in the world.  Usually I kill plants by over or under watering them.  Regardless of my skills (or lack thereof), my son still loves planting vegetables with me, so we try every year.  We don’t have an area for a proper garden, so we use pots, and I’m not usually very impressed by the results.  The vegetables we get are usually pretty small, and we don’t always get very many.  Now, thanks to Miracle-Gro, I think I’ve found the solution that will help us have a successful garden from here on out!  Miracle-Gro is introducing it’s Expand ‘n Gro™ Planting Mix.  This stuff is so cool!  The concentrated planting mix expands up to 3 times when water is added which means with planting in pots, you don’t require nearly as much as you would with normal potting soil, which I love.  It’s made out of a blend of Miracle-Gro plant food and coir, which is an all-natural material derived from coconut husk.  Coir’s all-natural fibers hold up to 50% more water than basic potting soil, so it’s able to slowly release that extra water when the plants need it, which helps prevent over or under watering.  It feeds your plants for up to 6 months, so there’s no need to fertilize multiple times.  The best part about Expand ‘n Gro Concentrated Planting Mix is that you’ll get up to 3 times the flowers and vegetables then you would if using native soil.  Plus, is super easy to use.  If you’re using in your garden, you just lay a 1 inch layer of Expand ‘n Gro over the native soil, then work it into the top 4-6 inches of the native soil.  Planting in pots like I do?  Just fill the pot 1/3 of the way full of Expand ‘n Gro and add water!  You’ll watch the mix grow before your eyes and you can plant as normal!  Expand ‘n Gro really worked for me.  We experienced beautiful growth, and I didn’t have to worry that I wasn’t watering properly.  This season, instead of spending tons of money on regular potting soil, give Miracle Gro’s Expand ‘n Gro a chance and see what and improvement you have in your garden!

I cannot have a spring garden because my 4 year old son digs in it. It’s a 12′ x 4′ space in front of our living room window, and ot’s a perfect place to plant things, but he insists on digging out whatever dirt is left there. When he gets old enough to leave it alone, I have plans for it!

  30. I don’t have a Spring Garden since I tore everything up last summer in preparation for redoing my flower beds but this sounds like a great product. I love Miracle Gro products anyway and I try to add a little in the holes where I put my flowers. It would get too expensive to add to the entire flowerbed, and probably not needed except where the flowers are, but I could definitely use this in my potted plants!
