Ballerina Movies For Kids
My daughter has recently started ballet, she loves all things ballet so I was on the hunt for ballerina movies for kids. I was so happy to be given the opportunity to review Angelina Ballerina Ballet Princess on DVD. The day it arrived we brought it in the car to watch on the way to ballet class. Although I couldn’t see it, I could hear it and really enjoyed the little songs. Both of my daughter’s were captivated and watching Angelina’s every move. Even though this DVD is designed for young children they used the proper ballet terminology which was very educational for both of us. So when she’s in ballet class and her teacher is referring to specific moves she is supposed to do she seemed to understand better because she had been watching Angelina!
Angelinas Big Part
In school Angelina (a cute little mouse) is working on a dance, Angelinas big part is a big role for her. Each of her friends have a different role. The ballet is based on a fairy tale about a princess and the enchanted pillow when the princess ballerina rests her head on the pillow she will never dance again. Angelina gets worried because she doesn’t want to be the princess and never dance again. She makes a deal with her teacher to go through rehearsal and see how she feels. Once she gets under the sleeping spell, she tries to sleep walk to get back on stage but is sent behind the scenes and complains that she has to sleep. She wants to switch parts with someone else but then she realizes that the forest friends will break the spell and she will be able to wake up and dance. She does the most beautiful dance. The Prince comes and they all dance together. She realized that everyone was needed in their own roles to be able to have the ballet be successful!
Real Ballet Positions
Isabella loved to watch the real ballet positions even though we couldn’t pronounce most of the names it was cute to watch her try to do the moves just like Angelina and her little friends. The other 4 episodes Angelina and Polly’s Two Hour Show, Angelina’s Fancy Tutu, Angelina and the Carnival and Angelina’s Indian Lunchtime were very entertaining. Needless to say, my little ballerina wants to be dressed up in her ballet attire and dance right along with Angelina ALL the time. You can purchase this DVD for $14.99. I love Angelina Ballerina!! I was a dancer from the time I was little until in my 20′s, I also taught dance. I’m hoping my daughter (now 3) will take dance as well!!!

I like the fact that my granddaughters go around the house trying to do various ballet moves that they have seen on tv. I think they could learn alot through this dvd to help them out

That not only does it encourage growth in activities other than school, but unlike a lot of “kids” TV on channels such as CN actually has a moral to every episode.

I like that the story is based on a fairy tale
I love the entire Angelina Ballerina line. It is enjoyable , a “pretty” production (no garish colors or wild characters), and gives good information on ballet. Great inspiration for little girls who want to take up dance.

My favorite part of this movie for my little Anistin will be the songs and the ballet terminology. As soon as she turns 2, we’ll be enrolling her into ballet class because she LOVES to dance! I think she’ll love it, just as much as I’ll love watching her!

It is a very sweet story about a little balerina. Its perfect for a little girl and teaches about friendship.
