Perfect Fathers Day Gift iGrill Review

Perfect Fathers Day Gift

Perfect Fathers Day Gift

I have found the perfect fathers day gift for my husband, he loves to cook on the grill and like most men considers himself to be the grill master!  I was given the opportunity to review the iGrill which was created by iDevices.  We recently got a new grill and it uses infrared heat so this is a new experience for him.  The way it grills is a lot different than what he is used to with direct heat so most times its hit or miss.  Beyond that he seems to get distracted when grilling and leaves his post to wander around the backyard or come inside to hang out resulting in over cooked meat!  This really gets me angry because I go through a lot of trouble to buy good meat, marinate it and prepare sides so if the meat is overcooked the whole meal is a bust!

Technology Gift Ideas For Men

Technology Gift Ideas For Men

I am never really sure what to get my husband and searched the Internet for technology gift ideas for men.  When I came across the iGrill I was so excited at all it had to offer.  My husband is big into technology having an iPod, iPad and iPhone.  He’s always tinkering with something on his phone or iPad so I know he is going to love this new device.  The iGrill is a wireless cooking thermometer that can be used indoors or outdoors monitoring the internal temperature of your oven, grill or smoker.  It’s super easy to use, you need to download the free iGrill Pro or Classic App and it will connect via Bluetooth to your iPad, iPod or iPhone.  Then you insert one or both of the probes into your meat which connect to your iGrill like a pair of headphones (the heat resistant cable is 48 inches long).  You can stand, lay or hang your iGrill, it has a great built in stand that works great on the grill shelf or on the counter if you are using the oven.  The display is nice and big so its easy to read/use with touch technology and it comes in black or white with storage for one probe.  I am always in charge of keeping track of everything so the probe storage is a great way to keep everything together.  The iGrill has a 200+ foot range so my ADD husband can be in the house, on the couch or even in the driveway doing goodness knows what while he’s grilling and get the alarm notification that his food is ready.  If this isn’t a genius invention I don’t know what is.  You can purchase the iGrill for $79.99 online at the iGrill website or Amazon.com.

One of the great features of the iGrill website is that they offer a section called iGrill University which has tips and techniques for picking and cooking the perfect steak.  It covers food and barbecue safety and gives you a chart of temperatures for each grilling preference.  I am a medium rare kinda girl so I can’t wait for him to cook me the perfect steak, having dual probes is perfect because he likes his rare!  It can detect temperatures ranging from 32°F (0°C) to 400°F (204°C).  The iGrill was designed specifically for iPod touch (2nd, 3rd and 4th generation), iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2 and iPad (but will act as a stand alone thermometer if need be).  It takes 4 AA batteries that are included.  The app is really easy to use, you choose your meat and cooking preference, its like have a personal chef right in your home.  You can even get tips, recipes, how to videos, grocery list and timers in seconds!  Check them out on Facebook!

iGrill is a sponsor of the Father’s Day Event June 10-18, 2012.  Make sure you like them on Facebook, follow them on Twitter and check out their website www.igrillinc.com to win an iGrill as part of the final package!
