The first time I saw someone on the DIY Network create an orange polished concrete countertop for their kitchen my mind was blown. Concrete counters? Weren’t they only for floors, garages, foundations or large buildings? Apparently not. Concrete can be used for just about everything these days. While I definitely don’t have the DIY Expertise for creating my own concrete countertop, I found some savy concrete connoisseurs. Forrest Concrete have spent the last 20 years working with concrete and they can do just about everything from skate parks to nearly any room in your house: kitchen, bath, patio, mud room.
All concrete countertops can be custom made for any kitchen. Whether you’re building a new house or just giving your kitchen a face lift. They can also be used for bathrooms, bars and outdoor grills. They don’t have to look like concrete they can look like granite or be dyed colors. They can also do texture effects and even add things like oyster shells for visual depth! All of the countertops are nicely polished and smooth too! No rough edges – unless you want it that way!
When I think of concrete floors I picture oil stained, dull gray garage floors but the floors pictures above are actually gorgeous! With toddlers I may not want it throughout the entire house but it’s perfect for a mudroom, kitchen, or office.
The stamped concrete effect looks like brick layout without any of the work or headache! I love it. Because concrete is so cost effective and low maintenance it’s a perfect alternative to marble, granite, or terrazzo. It can even be made to look like those mediums.
Of course, concrete can also be used for in ground pools, stamped concrete for your outdoor patio, parking lots, building structures, skate parks, and schools. If you’re looking for commercial concrete contractors or even residential concrete contractors in South Carolina, Forrest Concrete offers a variety of services.!
