I remember years ago when shopping at stores and putting your items on layaway was the norm. Having the ability to use a layaway plan was a really great way to shop. Not only was it fantastic if you did not have the cash at the time of purchase, but it was a great way to avoid using credit card.
Here we are, the holiday season is quickly approaching, are you ready? I know a lot of people have holiday savings plans so that throughout the year they could put some money towards the holidays. This would allow them to be financially prepared for their shopping. Now a days, with people still recovering from lose of employment, there are more people who are living check to check and do not have the means to put money aside. This is one reason why it is so great that Kmart is starting up their layaway plan for the holidays. Interested in free layaway?
Kmart is giving back this season with the "Kmart's Big Layaway Giveaway". This will be a weekly event that will run at each Kmart store. One name will be drawn each week between now and November 17, 2012 who has items on layaway. If your name is drawn, your remaining balance will be paid off in full as the prize! That is a pretty sweet giveaway. All you have to do for the layaway is shop, then bring your items to the layaway counter, pay a small deposit that will include a service, and then make your scheduled payments every two weeks. When your balance is paid in full, pick up your holiday gifts! An example of this would be a $100 purchase, $15 down (with service fee), $23 payment every two weeks. The total payoff is $105.
I am very excited about this being able to take advantage of this opportunity at Kmart since I have had my eye on the Fisher Price Loving Family Dream House for my daughter, which is $84.99 and the Imaginext Eagle Talon Castle for my son, which is $59.99. Without having the opportunity to take advantage of the "Big Layaway Giveaway" I would not be able to afford it. Plus, how exciting would that be if I won the first week and my remaining balance was a written off? That would be amazing!
I am actually starting to get excited about the upcoming holidays now! Are you going to be taking advantage of any layaway opportunities this year?
