The First Years Compass B570 Pathway Booster Seat
My daughter is in the 85th percentile for height and weight so she is quickly outgrowing our current car seat. Here I thought that the seat I purchased 2 years ago would grow with her until she was old enough to just wear a seat belt but I was wrong. I was so pleased when I was able to review The First Years Compass B570 Pathway Booster Seat. In the last 5 years, I have had a good experience with The First Years brand but never with a car seat so I was excited to see the booster seat and all it had to offer.
Award Winning Booster Seats
After doing my research on The First Years Pathway Booster seat I realized they are award winning booster seats, with the National Highway Transportation Administration and Insurance Institute For Highway Safety. I was very impressed with that information and when the booster arrived I was blown away at the quality and aesthetic appeal of the seat. The seat is mainly black with red accents which is huge for me because my kids like to eat their snacks in the car and my current cream colored seat is so gross…when I bought it I was going for cute not functional! We love that it has 2 cup holders, 1 for the snack and 1 for the drink (and you can remove them to clean them in the dishwasher no less…GENIUS)…current seat has NO cup holders, boy did I use poor judgment when I picked out the first one. I will chalk it up to her being my first and not knowing any better, my second child will get the seat with all the bells and whistles that’s for sure!
Our current seat is a booster with a 5 point harness, I have always been paranoid to use it without the harness for fear that the seat belt wouldn’t be positioned correctly. Well I no longer have to worry about that because The First Years Pathway Booster Seat is equipped with belt positioners which allow you the ease of adjusting the belt up to 1.5″ so your child will get the most comfortable and best fit in the seat. The “no gap” back adjusts in 6 positions for even the largest of children (I grow them big so this is perfect for us)! The seat will adjust to any seat with ease and has a lower anchor so there is no worry that the seat will move when there is not a child in it. This seat has so many awesome features and was truly built with safety in mind with the side impact testing, deep side wing protection and deeper head rest for better head containment.
The booster weighs in at only 9 lbs which for me was a huge bonus. From time to time, we have to swap the seats around and they are usually so heavy and bulky. One of the best features of this seat is that it folds with its patented one hand fold system…it has made my life so much easier! The booster was super easy to install and adjust to properly fit my daughter. It’s designed for children 30-100 lbs and between 38-57 inches (ages 3-10 years old). The belts are color coded for easy use and I love how you can adjust it within seconds to fit more comfortably.
I have been very happy with this booster and my daughter loves her new seat as well. I see another one of these in my future when my youngest gets a little older. even though I don’t need it myself anymore, I do have many family members having babies, and I think the thing I like the best is the ‘Home & Away Portable Digital Video Monitor’ ….especially for the ones who are first time mommies, being able to watch your baby even when they’re sleeping is very re-assuring (I know even with my 3rd, I was constantly checking on them lol). I would have loved one of these!
But now we’re ready to move up from 5 point harness to booster seat, so would love to win this prize!
