Being Accountable When Losing Weight

How are you doing this week? I am on week 22 with Medifast and I lost 1 pound, which puts me at 14 pounds lost.  I have been sick for the past 2 weeks and my weight has been up and down. The whole family got hit hard with this virus and just when we would feel better, we were sick again! Bronchitis and middle ear infections are not anything that should be seen in the same house! I am just happy to be feeling better and start entering back into the outside world! I have been thinking about being accountable a lot lately and I wanted to delve into that. If you are trying to lose weight, it is always easier to have a buddy to do it with you. If you can have a partner to keep you accountable, that helps both of you stay on track with your food plans.

Being Accountable When Losing Weight

There are some major areas that being accountable when losing weight work best in. Before you and your partner jump into your accountability roles, lay down some guidelines that you are both comfortable with. Decide how often you want to communicate and how best to do so. If you hide behind email, maybe the telephone is better for you. The next thing you should do is set goals for your weight loss plan for the week. Try to stick with 1-2 goals so you are not overwhelmed with too many goals in too short of a time. For example, a good place to start would be to set goals for water and veggie intake. What kind of exercise would you like to do? That should be a goal within the first few weeks. Exercising is always hard to get started with and when you have someone who is there to cheer you on, it makes it a bit easier to get going. Make plans to call, text or email at least once a day and if possible, a time to meet once a week. This way you can meet face to face and set your goals for the following week. Once you get started, you will be surprised at how much easier it is to follow your plan with a buddy and how much more fun it is!
