Well, this has been another hard week for me on Nutrisystem. I think the really difficult part now is watching the people around me eat whatever they want. The first couple of weeks people were trying to downplay that they were eating junk food, but now it seems like they feel that I’ve been on it long enough they don’t have to tiptoe around me with their food. They’re right, really. The thing is, I eat because food tastes good, and I don’t know that I’ll ever come to a place where I wouldn’t prefer a cheeseburger or pizza to a salad or grilled chicken breast. For me, just the smell of the bad-for-me foods gets me hungry and jealous that I can’t have them! My mom was over visiting this week and my son insisted that they make themselves hamburgers. Sitting down across the table from their juicy cheeseburgers was probably the most difficult time I’ve had so far, but the important part is that I didn’t cave in! I know I’m not going to be able to give up cheeseburgers for the rest of my life, so I’ll have to figure out how to eventually fit one in every once in awhile just to keep my cravings at bay.
On the flip side, I’ve really found what add-ons I like best, so grocery shopping is no big deal any longer. I’m really loving the Nutrisystem website, where I can track my food and weight daily. It’s so cool – you just enter the foods that you ate and they total up the calories for you! Also, now that I’ve kind of learned which Nutrisystem meals I like better than others, it was much easier to place my reorder. I’m holding at 222 all week, so I’m just not sure what’s going on. I knew my first week was too good to be true! I haven’t given up though – I still have high hopes for the upcoming week!
