Modern technology has made it possible for us to do amazing things from home. I can be an author, publisher, critic, director, or artist from the comfort of my living room. These abilities do not include adding hours to the day, sadly. When looking for ways to streamline your life, these advances in technology will be crucial in allowing you to do things quickly that previous generations could not have imagined.
You have too many things to do and not enough time to do them. Multitasking is the answer. We can all pat our heads and rub our tummies independently. Now you can stay in touch with family and friends, work and play all at the same time. I can be looking over tomorrow’s schedule of work, and one of my boys will decide he really, really needs to see a movie. I can have it streaming to the TV in a flash. Maybe my sweet grandmother has been taking pictures with her tablet again, and would like me to look at them. Done. Maybe I need to see a cat playing a piano. All at the same time. This is the flexibility we have today, to stop and start all of these activities at a whim. To return to them in perfectly preserved stasis at a time of our choosing.
You may be thinking, “I have a laptop, pal. When I do three things at once it crashes.” All machines are not created equal. The HP Envy TouchSmart 15.6” touch screen laptop from Best Buy has the tools and the talent to handle today’s multitasking demands. Six graphics processing units and four central processing units all up in there just computing their little cores off. They never give 110%, though. I have checked Task Manager. Your average football coach would not be impressed. If you like your movies big and loud, your web pages fast and flashy, and your work done then it is the machine for you. Best Buy makes it easy to get one, too. They’ll ship anything over $35 for free. They’ll make sure they’ve got it in store then pull it and have it ready to pick up in as little as 45 minutes.
How do you streamline your life?
